The M.U.R. [Modular, Urban and Reactive] is a concept created by the French association of the same name. It consists in transforming a billboard into a kind of open air museum. We offer contemporary artists the opportunity to display an original, temporary creation on a 3 x 9 metre billboard, on the basis of one poster covering another. Artists are free to choose how they wish to express themselves and the possibilities are numerous: acrylic paints, ink, aerosol paints, collages or live performances. Through this mix of genres, the objective is to shatter the symbolic barriers that separate the public from art and to offer a non-commercial exhibition area where walls everywhere are covered by advertising messages.
